Throughout the entire challenge, the holiday baking portion has been my favorite. I’ve made cakes inspired by pie, after dinner drinks and so many cranberry treats! For Christmas I’ve been planning something really special for a while.
Bûche de Noël (also Yule Log) is a traditional Christmas dessert found on holiday tables across Europe. I’ve had my mind set on the festive bake for a while because 1.) I am a chocolate fiend and 2.) the sheer challenge of such a bake was calling my name.
Because I’m getting close to wrapping up the project, I had my boyfriend film me making the cake on my Instagram story, but have saved it below for you to follow along!
The recipe is from Bon Appétit and was so delicious, every time I passed the fridge I had to take a bite! For best results, do make the chocolate butter cream. It’s really something special.
Final Thoughts on Week 49:
- Now that I have the jelly roll pan, I’m making Bûche de Noël a Christmas tradition!
- 49 down, 3 more cakes to go!
